क्षीराब्धेर्मृदुतरङ्गैर्दोलायां दोलितोऽपि भोः ।
शेषशय्यां समाश्रित्य निद्रां न लभसे स्वामिन् ॥ १ ॥

శేషశయ్యాం సమాశ్రిత్య నిద్రాం న లభసే స్వామిన్ ॥ ౧ ॥
English Meaning:
O Lord! Though the gentle waves of the Milk Ocean sway You like a cradle, and though You rest upon the divine couch of Adi-Shesha, why do You still find no sleep?

संस्कृतम्:
आदिशेषो भवेत् शय्या फणैश्छायां वितन्वति ।
सुखशय्यां ददत्येव निद्रां न लभसे स्वामिन् ॥ २ ॥

ఆదిశేషో భవేత్ శయ్యా ఫణైశ్ఛాయాం వితన్వతి ।
సుఖశయ్యాం దదత్యేవ నిద్రాం న లభసే స్వామిన్ ॥ ౨ ॥
English Meaning:
Adi-Shesha himself becomes Your divine bed, spreading the cool shade of his many hoods and offering the softest resting place; yet, O Lord, sleep does not come to You.

गरुडो मन्दमारुतैः पक्षाभ्यां व्यजनं वहन् ।
शीतलैर्मृदुभिर्वातैर्निद्रां न लभसे स्वामिन् ॥ ३ ॥

గరుడో మందమారుతైః పక్షాభ్యాం వ్యజనం వహన్ ।
శీతలైర్మృదుభిర్వాతైర్నిద్రాం న లభసే స్వామిన్ ॥ ౩ ॥
English Meaning:
Garuda gently fans You with his mighty wings, wafting soft and cooling breezes toward You; yet, O Lord, sleep still eludes You.

संस्कृतम्:
श्रीर्लक्ष्मीः कुपिता गत्वा त्यक्त्वा वैकुण्ठमन्दिरम् ।
तस्याः विरहदुःखेन निद्रां न लभसे स्वामिन् ॥ ४ ॥

శ్రీర్లక్ష్మీః కుపితా గత్వా త్యక్త్వా వైకుంఠమందిరమ్ ।
తస్యాః విరహదుఃఖేన నిద్రాం న లభసే స్వామిన్ ॥ ౪ ॥
English Meaning:
Sri Mahalakshmi, displeased, has departed from Vaikuntha and left Her divine abode; perhaps it is the sorrow of separation from Her that keeps You awake, O Lord.

भृगोः पादप्रहारं तु हृदि धृत्वा दयानिधे ।
वैकुण्ठमपि संत्यज्य निद्रां न लभसे स्वामिन् ॥ ५ ॥

భృగోః పాదప్రహారం తు హృది ధృత్వా దయానిధే ।
వైకుంఠమపి సంత్యజ్య నిద్రాం న లభసే స్వామిన్ ॥ ౫ ॥
English Meaning:
O Ocean of Compassion! Bearing the painful memory of Sage Bhrigu’s foot striking Your chest, and having abandoned Vaikuntha, You find no rest, O Lord.
శ్లోకమ్ — ౬
संस्कृतम्:
श्रीनिवासो गिरौ रम्ये वेङ्कटाद्रौ विराजसे ।
वकुलामातरं प्राप्य निद्रां लप्स्यसे स्वामिन् ॥ ६ ॥

శ్రీనివాసో గిరౌ రమ్యే వేంకటాద్రౌ విరాజసే ।
వకుళామాతరం ప్రాప్య నిద్రాం లప్స్యసే స్వామిన్ ॥ ౬ ॥
English Meaning:
O Srinivasa! You now reside gloriously upon the enchanting Venkata Hill. Resting with Mother Vakula, You shall finally find peaceful sleep.

संस्कृतम्:
वैकुण्ठे शेषपर्यङ्के क्षीरसिन्धुतरङ्गके ।
न यां निद्रामवाप्नोषि मातुर्वकुलिकोत्सङ्गे ॥ ७ ॥
తెలుగు ఫోనెటిక్స్:
వైకుంఠే శేషపర్యంకే క్షీరసింధుతరంగకే ।
న యాం నిద్రామవాప్నోషి మాతుర్వకుళికోత్సంగే ॥ ౭ ॥
English Meaning:
The profound tranquility You could not attain upon the serpent-couch in Vaikuntha or amidst the ocean waves, You shall find here in the tender lap of Mother Vakula.

आगच्छागच्छ हे नाथ वकुलामातुरुत्सङ्गके ।
मातृवात्सल्यसम्पूर्णे निद्रां कुरु जनार्दन ॥ ८ ॥

ఆగచ్ఛాగచ్ఛ హే నాథ వకుళామాతురుత్సంగకే ।
మాతృవాత్సల్యసంపూర్ణే నిద్రాం కురు జనార్దన ॥ ౮ ॥
English Meaning:
Come, come, O Lord! Rest in the lap of Mother Vakula, filled with boundless maternal love. Sleep peacefully, O Janardana. 🌺🙏
