योगीन्द्रो नन्दिकेशोऽसौ

 

योगीन्द्रो नन्दिकेशोऽसौ हिमाद्रिसदृशप्रभः ।

गङ्गातीरे निर्मलात्मा निश्चलध्यानतत्परः ॥

शृङ्गे शिवस्वरूपोऽयं कैलासाभो महातनुः ।
यस्य घोरनिनादेन कम्पते भुवनत्रयम् ॥

यदा नदति “अम्बे”ति नन्दीशो रुद्ररूपधृक् ।
तदा कम्पति कालश्च कलेरन्तः प्रजायते ॥

शिवद्वारे स्थिरो नन्दी तपःपुञ्जो वृषाकृतिः ।

युगे युगे स एवासौ धर्मसाक्षी सनातनः ॥

యోగీంద్రో నందికేశోఽసౌ హిమాద్రిసదృశప్రభః ।
గంగాతీరే నిర్మలాత్మా నిశ్చలధ్యానతత్పరః ॥

శృంగే శివస్వరూపోఽయం కైలాసాభో మహాతనుః ।
యస్య ఘోరనినాదేన కంపతే భువనత్రయమ్ ॥

యదా నదతి “అంబే”తి నందీశో రుద్రరూపధృక్ ।
తదా కంపతి కాలశ్చ కలేరంతః ప్రజాయతే ॥

శివద్వారే స్థిరో నందీ తపఃపుంజో వృషాకృతిః ।

యుగే యుగే స ఏవాసౌ ధర్మసాక్షీ సనాతనః ॥

English

Nandīkeśa, the Lord of Yogis, shines with the serene majesty of the Himalayas. Pure in spirit upon the banks of the Gaṅgā, he remains wholly absorbed in unwavering meditation.

Bearing the very form of Śiva, with a mighty body resembling Mount Kailāsa, his terrifying and resonant roar causes the three worlds to tremble.

When Nandīśa, assuming the fierce form of Rudra, thunders forth “Ambā!”, even Time itself trembles, and the dissolution of Kali-yuga is set into motion.

Steadfast at Śiva's threshold stands Nandī, a mass of tapas in the form of a bull; age after age, he alone remains unchanged — the eternal witness of dharma.
