१.
कृष्णागमनमाकाङ्क्षन् मा तिष्ठ स्वप्नकाननः।
स्वप्नानां रथिनः स्वयं भव त्वं सारथिः सदा॥
కృష్ణాగమనమాకాంక్షన్ మా తిష్ఠ స్వప్నకాననః।
స్వప్నానాం రథినః స్వయం భవ త్వం సారథిః సదా॥
Do not stand waiting, longing for Kṛṣṇa's coming, lost in the forest of dreams — be, yourself, always, the charioteer of your own dream-chariot.
२.
कुमार्गगामिनो युनो जीवितं निष्फलायते।
श्वो दिने संचरन्तीह जीवच्छवसमा इव॥
కుమార్గగామినో యూనో జీవితం నిష్ఫలాయతే।
శ్వో దినే సంచరన్తీహ జీవచ్ఛవసమా ఇవ॥
The life of youth walking a wrong path becomes fruitless — tomorrow, they move about in this world just like living corpses.

राजनीतिचितिज्वालासु शलभा इव मा पत।
मा भवध्वं समित्तुल्या भस्मसाद् भवितुं क्वचित्॥
రాజనీతిచితిజ్వాలాసు శలభా ఇవ మా పత।
మా భవధ్వం సమిత్తుల్యా భస్మసాద్ భవితుం క్వచిత్॥
Do not fall like moths into the flames of the political funeral-pyre; do not ever become like kindling-sticks, only to be reduced to ash.
४.
सागरस्याङ्कमध्ये तु दिग्भ्रान्ता जीविताब्धयः।
अनिर्दिष्टगतीर्नावो मा भवध्वं कदाचन॥
సాగరస్యాంకమధ్యే తు దిగ్భ్రాన్తా జీవితాబ్ధయః।
అనిర్దిష్టగతీర్నావో మా భవధ్వం కదాచన॥
In the very lap of the ocean, do not ever become life-vessels that are direction-confused, boats moving with no destination fixed.
५.
अज्ञातलक्ष्यपान्था वा मा भवध्वं कदाचन।
कर्तव्यं मा विस्मरत विस्मृतिः पातकं महत्॥
అజ్ఞాతలక్ష్యపాన్థా వా మా భవధ్వం కదాచన।
కర్తవ్యం మా విస్మరత విస్మృతిః పాతకం మహత్॥
Nor should you ever become wayfarers unaware of their goal — do not forget your duty; forgetting it is a grave transgression.
