🔱 परमात्म–आत्मसूक्तम् 🔱

परमात्मस्वरूपम्

परमात्मा जगद्व्यापी नित्यशुद्धः सनातनः ।
अनादिनिधनो देवः सर्वजीवप्रकाशकः ॥ १ ॥

పరమాత్మా జగద్వ్యాపీ నిత్యశుద్ధః సనాతనః ।
అనాదినిధనో దేవః సర్వజీవప్రకాశకః ॥ ౧ ॥

Paramātma is the eternal, pure and all-pervading Reality. Beginningless and endless, He is the divine source that illumines every living being with the principle of life.

२. सृष्टिः

तस्मादेव समुत्पन्नं विश्वमेतच्चराचरम् ।
शक्तिरूपेण तिष्ठन्तं सर्वभूतेषु शाश्वतम् ॥ २ ॥

తస్మాదేవ సముత్పన్నం విశ్వమేతచ్చరాచరం ।
శక్తిరూపేణ తిష్ఠంతం సర్వభూతేషు శాశ్వతమ్ ॥ ౨ ॥

From Paramātma arises the entire universe, moving and unmoving. His eternal power abides within all beings and sustains creation.

३. जीवोत्पत्तिः

यदा जीवबीजं सिद्धं भवति प्रकृतेः क्रमात् ।
तदा तत्राविर्भवति स्वयंज्योतिः परात्परः ॥ ३ ॥

యదా జీవబీజం సిద్ధం భవతి ప్రకృతేః క్రమాత్ ।
తదా తత్రావిర్భవతి స్వయంజ్యోతిః పరాత్పరః ॥ ౩ ॥

When, through the course of nature, the living seed becomes prepared, the self-effulgent Supreme manifests there as the principle of life.

४. आत्मस्वरूपम्

देहसंयोगमासाद्य विभाति परमेश्वरः ।
आत्मेति व्यपदिश्येत जीवनस्य प्रकाशकः ॥ ४ ॥

దేహసంయోగమాసాద్య విభాతి పరమేశ్వరః ।
ఆత్మేతి వ్యపదిశ్యేత జీవనస్య ప్రకాశకః ॥ ౪ ॥

When the Supreme becomes manifest in association with a living body, He is known as Ātma—the illuminator and sustainer of life.

५. जीवभेदः

एकोऽपि स परमात्मा देहभेदैर्विभाव्यते ।
यथा सूर्यस्य बिम्बानि जलपात्रेषु भासते ॥ ५ ॥

ఏకోపి స పరమాత్మా దేహభేదైర్విభావ్యతే ।
యథా సూర్యస్య బింబాని జలపాత్రేషు భాసతే ॥ ౫ ॥

Though Paramātma is one, He appears as many through different bodies, just as one sun is reflected in many vessels of water.

६. जन्म

जन्म नाम न देहस्य कल्पनामात्रविभ्रमः ।
आत्मप्रकाशसंश्लेषो जीवनोन्मेष उच्यते ॥ ६ ॥

జన్మ నామ న దేహస్య కల్పనామాత్రవిభ్రమః ।
ఆత్మప్రకాశసంశ్లేషో జీవనోన్మేష ఉచ్యతే ॥ ౬ ॥

Birth is not merely the formation of a body. It is the manifestation of life through the union of the body with the illuminating principle called Ātma.

७. जीवनम्

श्वासस्पन्दनचैतन्यं यावद्देहे विलासते ।
तावदात्मा विराजेत जीवरूपेण शाश्वतम् ॥ ७ ॥

శ్వాసస్పందనచైతన్యం యావద్దేహే విలాసతే ।
తావదాత్మా విరాజేత జీవరూపేణ శాశ్వతమ్ ॥ ౭ ॥

As long as breath, pulsation and consciousness shine within the body, Ātma is manifested there as living existence.

८. मरणम्

न म्रियेत परमात्मा नाशं जीवोऽपि नाश्नुते ।
देहमात्रविलये जाते रूपमेव निवर्तते ॥ ८ ॥

న మ్రియేత పరమాత్మా నాశం జీవోఽపి నాశ్నుతే ।
దేహమాత్రవిలయే జాతే రూపమేవ నివర్తతే ॥ ౮ ॥

Paramātma never dies, nor is the life-principle destroyed. At death, only the bodily form comes to an end.

९. विश्वचक्रम्

सद्यः प्रविश्य जीवात्मा बीजरूपेण संततम् ।
विश्वचक्रं प्रवर्तेत नित्यं धर्मेण शाश्वतम् ॥ ९ ॥

సద్యః ప్రవిశ్య జీవాత్మా బీజరూపేణ సంతతమ్ ।
విశ్వచక్రం ప్రవర్తేత నిత్యం ధర్మేణ శాశ్వతమ్ ॥ ౯ ॥

Entering the living seed, the life-principle sustains the eternal cycle of life, through which the cosmic order continues unceasingly.

१०. परमैक्यम्

आत्मा नान्यः परस्मात्तु देहो नैव स्वयंप्रभुः ।
परमात्मप्रसादेन विश्वं जीवति नित्यशः ॥ १० ॥

ఆత్మా నాన్యః పరస్మాత్తు దేహో నైవ స్వయంప్రభుః ।
పరమాత్మప్రసాదేన విశ్వం జీవతి నిత్యశః ॥ ౧౦ ॥

Ātma is not independent of Paramātma, and the body possesses no life by itself. Through the grace and presence of Paramātma, the universe lives.

११. महावाक्यम्

परमात्मा विश्वचैतन्यम् आत्मा देहगतं विभुः ।
एकमेव द्विधा भाति त्रैलोक्ये सचराचरे ॥ ११ ॥

పరమాత్మా విశ్వచైతన్యమ్ ఆత్మా దేహగతం విభుః ।
ఏకమేవ ద్విధా భాతి త్రైలోక్యే సచరాచరే ॥ ౧౧ ॥

Paramātma is the universal consciousness; Ātma is its manifestation within the living body. The One appears in two modes throughout the moving and unmoving universe.

१२. समापनम्

ॐ शान्तिः परमा शान्तिः जीवात्मपरमात्मनोः ।
सर्वभूतहृदावासं वन्दे नित्यं सनातनम् ॥ १२ ॥

ఓం శాంతిః పరమా శాంతిః జీవాత్మపరమాత్మనోః ।
సర్వభూతహృదావాసం వందే నిత్యం సనాతనమ్ ॥ ౧౨ ॥

Om. Supreme Peace. I bow forever to the Eternal One who dwells in the hearts of all beings as Paramātma and Ātma.
